You're using Pipedrive and want to add LoneScale's results using Zapier ? This article is made for you :)

Updated over a week ago

Oh hey LoneScaler! 👋

You want to connect Pipedrive with LoneScale but don't know how? I'm here!

First of all, here are some good practices to connect your CRM with an automation tool like Zapier:

  1. Always begin with the step on Organization

  2. Follow with People step

  3. Then continue with Lead or Deal steps

  4. If needed, finish with Note or Activity steps

In our scenario, we will begin with "Finding an Organization" and then, create a Lead.

Let me walk you through each step ⬇

1️⃣ Find Organization in Pipedrive

☀️ Select your CRM by tapping Pipedrive

  • Type the name of the Action: "Find Organization"

  • Click on "Continue"

☀️ Select your Pipedrive account

  • Click on "Continue"

☀️ Select the Pipedrive field that you would like to use to find the Organization in your CRM.

By default, it's that name that is selected. It could be less precise to find a match than others fields. Why? Because a name can be written in capital letters, with spaces or multiple symbols and signs.

For example, I can write PWC or PricewaterhouseCoopers or Pricewaterhouse Coopers or P.W.C, etc.

At LoneScale, we advise you to choose unique fields such as website, domain, or LinkedIn Url. However, these fields will only work if they are filled in correctly and in sufficient quantity in your CRM.

If you need help on data enrichment, feel free to ask LoneScale team. We are able to enrich companies with multiple data thanks to our Performance features.

In this tutorial, we will use the "Name" field.

  • Choose "Company Name" as shown below.

  • To be sure to catch more fuzzy matches, we will set the parameter "Search for an Exact Match" to "No".

  • Set any other Organization' field that you would like to enrich in your CRM

  • Then click on "Continue"

☀️ Test the first Action you made

  • Click on "Test & Continue".
A sample will be sent by Zapier to your CRM.

⚠️ Skip test isn't advised. If you did it, no sample will be sent to your CRM and you'll have difficulties in the next steps. For example, you won't be able to attach People, Lead, Deals or Activities to the Organization you had just found or created.

2️⃣ Create Lead in Pipedrive

Tips-- there are two schools about Leads and Deals in CRM:

  1. Create Deals with Notes and Activities

  2. Create Leads

Each one has advantages and inconveniences. Without going deep on this subject, we prefer to create Leads. For example, if you create Deals then mark them "Lost" because you didn't succeed to contact your prospects, it will deform your KPIs.

In LoneScale, for the safety of our KPIs, we are going to create Lead.

☀️ Type the name of the Action: "Create Lead"

  • Click on "Continue"

  • Select your Pipedrive account

  • Click on "Continue"

☀️ Set Title field

To have precise information in the title, I usually write :

  • "Job Name" @ "Company Name" in "Location" on "Date".

⚠️ You can do whatever you want, just try to use a title that will make each Lead different. For example, if you use only "Location", it will become chaos!

☀️ Attach the Organization that you Found or Created in step 2

☀️ Complete some detail on the Note' field

☀️ Set any other Lead' field that you would like to enrich in your CRM

  • Then click on "Continue".

☀️ Test the Action you made by clicking on "Test & Continue"

A sample will be sent by Zapier to your CRM.

3️⃣ Click on the Toggle button "On/Off" to turn your Zap on and watch the magic happen! ✨

4️⃣ Check-in your Pipedrive if it worked ✅

5️⃣ ⚠️ Don't forget to activate your "Webhook connection" on Lonescale.

  • Click in the column "Actions" on the toggle. If it becomes blue, it worked!
